sick dogs

Alert to dog owners:
5 dogs at the south end of the lake have been seriously ill. Water samples and stool samples were analyzed by the vet and the lake currently (as of today 8/14)has a bacteria that is causing this. It mostly effects younger dogs, but I wouldn't take any chances. Humans are okay unless the state notifies us otherwise. The state is aware.
I'll keep you posted. Perhaps we'll do a phone-tree to let lake folks know. If the lake is closed to swimming, it will be posted at the Town Beach.
